kochas.in (“kochas.in”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a local digital platform that helps people discover and connect with businesses, services and community information related to Kochas, Rohtas, Bihar.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, when it may be shared, and how you can contact us about your information.
We aim to follow applicable Indian privacy and information-technology requirements. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 are being brought into force in stages, so this policy will be updated as applicable provisions become effective.
kochas.in is presently operated by the Kochaswala project founder(s) on an unincorporated basis. Formal business registration (as a proprietorship, LLP or company, as applicable) is in progress. The registered legal name, registration/CIN or LLPIN, and GSTIN (where applicable) will be published on this page once available. Until then, the operator is reachable at the contact details in Section 15.

- Business mobile or WhatsApp number

- Business photos, logo and other materials submitted for publication
- Email address, where provided
User / Enquiry Information
When you submit a form, enquiry, feedback, registration or similar information, we may collect:
- Name
- Mobile or WhatsApp number
- Email address
- Information included in your message, enquiry or submission
Order and Service Information
When online ordering or other digital services are available, we may collect information needed to process and support the transaction, such as:
- Contact details
- Order details
- Items or services requested
- Delivery or service information, where applicable
- Payment-related confirmation or transaction references received from payment providers
Technical Information
When you use the website, technical information may be processed automatically, such as:
- IP address or similar network information

3. Public Business Listings
A core purpose of kochas.in is to make local businesses easier to discover.
When a business voluntarily submits information for a public listing, information intended for public display may include:
- Business name
- Business category
- Business description
- Products or services
- Published prices and offers
- Business location
- Business photographs or logo
- A business-designated contact number
4. Business Verification
We review submitted business listings before publication.
Our review may include checking the business information and contact details provided by the business or its authorised representative.
Verification is intended to improve the reliability of the directory. It does not mean that kochas.in guarantees the quality, legality, availability, pricing, claims, products or services of a listed business.
Businesses remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of the information, products, services and offers they submit.
5. Customer Communications and WhatsApp
Where you provide a mobile or WhatsApp number, we may use it to:

kochas.in does not sell or rent private personal contact information to data brokers or telemarketing companies.

6. Information Provided by Businesses
A business may, where our services support it, provide customer contact information to kochas.in for purposes such as order support, customer communication, recommendations or promotional campaigns.
Where a business provides customer information to us, the business is responsible for having the necessary authority, permission or other lawful basis to provide that information for the stated purpose.
We do not knowingly accept customer contact lists that have been unlawfully obtained or shared.

We may share or provide access to information where reasonably necessary to operate kochas.in or provide a requested service.
This may include:
- Hosting and cloud service providers
- Database and infrastructure providers
- WhatsApp or other communication service providers
- Payment providers, when applicable
- Technology, hosting and security service providers
- Analytics and product-insight providers, including Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) and Google Analytics (Google) — see Section 9
- Government authorities or law-enforcement agencies where required by applicable law
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, misuse, loss or alteration.
The website uses HTTPS/TLS for data transmitted between your browser and kochas.in.
We limit access to personal information based on operational need and use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the platform.
No internet-based service can guarantee complete security. We therefore cannot promise absolute security.
9. Cookies, Analytics and Usage Insights
kochas.in may use cookies, browser storage or similar technologies for:
- Remembering language or interface preferences
- Maintaining temporary session settings
- Security and abuse prevention

We aim to use only technologies reasonably necessary for operating, securing and improving the platform.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity, a product-analytics and session-replay service provided by Microsoft Corporation. Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies to record how visitors interact with kochas.in — including pages viewed, clicks, taps, scrolling, mouse and touch movement, and a reconstructed (non-video) playback of the on-page session — together with device, browser, operating system, referring page and approximate location derived from your IP address.
Clarity masks text you enter into form fields by default, and we do not use it to read the contents of forms, messages or login details. This information is transmitted to and processed by Microsoft in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We use Clarity only to find usability problems and improve the platform — never to build advertising or marketing profiles.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand aggregate traffic and how features are used (for example page views, category switches, and outbound WhatsApp or call clicks). Google processes this data in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
What we do not send
We do not send your name, email address or phone number to Microsoft or Google. When a resident is logged in, they are identified to these tools only by an opaque, random account identifier that cannot be read back into a name or contact detail.
Your controls
Clarity and Google Analytics load only after you opt in through the cookie banner shown on your first visit — neither is active by default. You can review or change your choice anytime via "Cookie Preferences" in the site footer, which lets you accept, reject, or set Analytics and Session Recording independently.
You can also limit or block these tools using your browser's cookie and tracking settings, a tracker-blocking or privacy extension, or your device's tracking-limitation settings. None of this affects your ability to use kochas.in.
10. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including:

12. Children
kochas.in is a general local discovery and information platform.
We do not knowingly seek personal information from children for independent commercial purposes.

kochas.in may use or link to third-party services such as WhatsApp, payment providers, maps, social platforms or other websites.
Those services may have their own privacy policies and terms. Once you use a third-party service, its own policies may apply.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices or security of third-party services that we do not control.

As kochas.in develops, we may introduce new features, services, communication methods or technologies.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect those changes or changes in applicable law.

Grievance Officer
In accordance with Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, grievances relating to this Privacy Policy, your personal information, or content on the Platform may be submitted to team@kochas.in with the subject line "Grievance".
We aim to acknowledge a grievance within 24 hours of receipt and to dispose of it within 15 days, in line with Rule 3(2). Where a grievance instead concerns a consumer complaint under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, we aim to acknowledge it within 48 hours and redress it within one month, in line with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
Data Protection Board of India
If you are not satisfied with our response, or wish to raise a concern about how your personal data is processed under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI) through the process the Board prescribes.
